Video of a newborn with a rare disease was going viral with the baseless story
It is being claimed that this child was so strange that an attempt was made to kill it by injection of poison but it did not die and later it was buried by slitting its throat.
A strange looking child’s video is going viral on social media. The child seen in this video is lying on a white sheet and all the veins of his body are clearly visible. His eyes, lips etc. are also swollen.
Sharing this video, a Facebook user wrote, “Weird baby born to a Muslim today in village KD near Shamli! Didn’t die even after 50 injections of poison, then was buried after slitting his throat.
We found in our investigation that this video is not from Shamli in Uttar Pradesh but from Ratlam district of Madhya Pradesh. Born in June this year, the baby had a disease called ‘Harlequin Ichthyosis’, due to which it died four-five days after birth. With this video, the claim of giving 50 injections of poison to this child and burying it by slitting its throat is baseless.

On reverse-searching the keyframes of the viral video, we found a news from other news channels. According to this news, this child was born at MCH Hospital in Ratlam district of Madhya Pradesh. To know more about this video, we spoke to Dr. Naved Qureshi, Incharge of ICU at MCH Ratlam. He told “This child was born in June this year. It died four-five days after birth.
