Tata Tiago EV Has Been Launched Today, So Here Are Some Things You Need To Know About It

Tata Motors’ Tiago EV is going to be the company’s third electric vehicle after Tigor EV and Nexon EV.
In the last few years, Tata Motors has been gaining impressive volumes of internal combustion engines (ICE) as well as electric vehicles. In addition to selling ICE models such as Tiago, Altroz, Tigor, Punch, Nexon, Harrier, and Safari, the company also sells electric models such as the Tigor EV and Nexon EV. Today, the company is going to introduce a new electric vehicle model, the Tiago EV.
Tata Motors dominates the nascent electric passenger vehicle (PV) segment in India at the moment. In FY 2021-21, the homegrown automaker accounted for 87 per cent of the electric PV market. As of April-2022, the company has sold 17,150 electric vehicles. With the introduction of the Tiago EV, the company is sure to increase its volume significantly.

Price of Tata Tiago EV
Tata Motors’ Tiago EV will be the lowest priced electric vehicle in the company’s portfolio. This will be the cheapest of the company’s electric vehicles. The Tiago EV is expected to start at Rs 11 lakh (ex-showroom).
Tata Tiago EV Range
A number of reports have claimed that the Tiago EV’s range might be close to 300 kilometers, despite Tata Motors not having revealed its technical specifications or details about the motor, battery and range. Before we have a clear understanding, we will have to wait for an official announcement from the company.
A few of the features that will be available on the Tiago Electric Vehicle include projector headlamps, alloy wheels, automatic temperature control, and a touchscreen infotainment system.
Tata Tiago EV Rivals
In terms of rivals, the Tiago EV does not yet have any. However, MG Motor India is expected to launch a more affordable electric model early next year, which could compete with the Tiago EV. A Maruti Suzuki electric vehicle (to be launched in 2025) is expected to be positioned in a higher segment.
Tata Motors EV Plans
In April, Tata Motors showcased its concept versions of the Curvv EV and Avinya EV, which will come to market by 2025.
