‘Rozgar Mela’: PM Will Launch A Recruitment Drive On October 22 To Recruit 10 Lakh People
Unemployment has been a constant target of criticism from the opposition of the government led by the BJP.
It was announced Thursday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch ‘Rozgar Mela’, an initiative to recruit 10 lakh people, through a video conference on October 22. Appointment letters will be issued to 75,000 candidates during the ceremony.
According to the PMO, this is a significant step toward fulfilling the prime minister’s continuous commitment to youth employment and citizen welfare.
Opposition parties have claimed that there are not enough employment opportunities, a charge dismissed by the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). On the issue of unemployment, the opposition has been constantly criticizing the BJP-led government. A major advantage of the drive is its ability to combat the Opposition in Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat, which are prime candidates for elections.
Government departments and ministries were instructed by Modi in June to recruit 10 lakh people on a “mission mode” in the coming year.
In a statement Thursday, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said Modi’s direction followed a review of human resources across all government departments and ministries.
In the upcoming year, 38 ministry or departments will be recruiting new staff. They will be positioned at various levels across Group A and B (Gazated), Group B (Non-Gazated), and Group C.
This includes appointments for posts in the Central Armed Forces, sub-inspectors, constables, LDC, stenographers, PAs, income tax inspectors, and MTSs, among others, it read.
