Murder Charges Filed Against Two Teens, Ages 14 And 15, For Allegedly Shooting 100 Rounds At An Innocent Woman

An innocent Texas woman was killed during a drive-by shooting that two teenagers allegedly carried out with dozens of rounds of ammunition.

Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar said it is likely the suspects, ages 14 and 15, “hit the wrong house” at about 12:30 a.m. Tuesday.

As Salazar told reporters, “I don’t think they are showing any remorse at all.”

The teens have been charged with murder in the first degree and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, according to WOAI-TV.

Novita Brazil, 25, has been identified as the shooting victim, according to the outlet.

A GoFundMe page for Brazil praises her as “the kindest, selfless, funny, loving, adventurous, and adventure-loving person you would ever meet.”

Salazar said another Airbnb guest who was staying with the victim was shot in the leg, but the injury did not threaten her life.

Salazar called Brazil “completely innocent.” She was up late working on her computer and was just burning the midnight oil.

The crime scene was found to have more than 100 shell casings, according to Salazar.

A baseball field 10 miles away is where deputies captured the teens, who led them on a car chase.

According to reports, the 14-year-old suspect faces murder and assault charges along with evading arrest with a vehicle and unlicensed use of a vehicle, while the 15-year-old suspect faces evading arrest on foot.

There was no information about the lawyers of the two individuals Thursday, so it was unclear whether they had entered a plea to the charges.
