Hyundai overtook Tata Motors to take the second No. 2 position, Maruti Suzuki still holding the No. 1 position.

According to the Federation of Automobile Dealers Association (FADA) data, Maruti Suzuki remains at number one in July in terms of dispatching vehicles to dealers. The company dispatched 1,42,850 passenger cars in July 2022, 7 percent more than a year ago i.e. 1,33,732 units in July 2021.

Talking about the passenger car market, Maruti Suzuki still remains at the first position with a long margin, but the tussle between Tata Motors and Hyundai for the second position. is going on. Looking at the figures of July, Hyundai has once again managed to grab the second position in the Indian passenger car market.

Maruti is number one with a long margin

According to Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) data, Maruti Suzuki remains at number one in July in terms of dispatching vehicles to dealers. The company dispatched 1,42,850 passenger cars in July 2022, which is 7 per cent more than a year ago i.e. 1,33,732 units in July 2021. The company’s sales also saw a boom during the month of July. However, the country’s largest passenger car company says that during the month of July, its production has been affected by the chip shorts. The company said that it took several measures to reduce the effect of chip shortage, which also benefited.

Despite record growth, Tata Motors lags behind

According to FADA data, Tata Motors registered 57 percent year-on-year growth during July 2022, but even after this, Hyundai overtook it in July and retook the second position. Hyundai has got a chance to become the second largest passenger car company in the country for the first time since March 2021. The company sold 50,500 passenger cars in July 2022, an increase of 5.1 percent from 48,042 units a year ago. Tata Motors, on the other hand, sold 47,505 units, which is the highest ever sales for any single month. Even after this, Tata Motors had to lose second place.

Sales of these companies also increased rapidly

Talking about other companies, Mahindra & Mahindra’s sales increased by 38 percent to 28,053 units. There was a tremendous increase of 46.7 percent in the sales of Kia Motor and the figure reached 22,022 units. Toyota also set a sales record in the month of July. During this period, Toyota’s sales increased by 50 percent to 19,693 units, which is Toyota’s highest sales in any single month. Honda’s sales increased by 12 percent to 6,784 units.

MG Motor, Renault sales down

The sales of French car company Renault declined during this period. The company’s sales came down 27 percent to 7,128 units from 9,787 units a year ago. The sales of MG Motor India also saw a slight decline during this period. The company had sold 4,225 units in July last year, which came down by 5 per cent to 4,013 units in July 2022. On the other hand, Skoda’s passenger car sales jumped 44 percent to 4,447 units.
