1. House of Gucci (2021)
The film stars Lady Gaga as Patrizia Reggiani, who came from a humble background and married into the fashion family Gucci. Will Patrizia get everything she wants in the end? Her ambition unravels the Gucci legacy and triggers a spiral of betrayal, revenge, and, ultimately, murder.
As part of the film’s cast, Adam Driver plays Maurizio Gucci, Al Pacino plays Aldo Gucci, Jared Leto plays Paolo Gucci, Jeremy Irons plays Rodolfo Gucci, and Selma Hayek plays Pina Auriemma. The movie was directed by Ridley Scott.
The Gucci family got started in a very unique way. Have you ever wondered how they became successful? We asked that question and were able to gain a deeper understanding of how they achieved success.
2. Gladiator (2000)
Ridley Scott’s epic historical drama film should always be on your list as one of the classics. As Roman general Maximus Decimus Meridius, Russell Crowe plays the betrayed general who is betrayed by Commodus, the ambitious son of Emperor Marcus Aurelius.
The film is based on Daniel P. Mannix’s 1958 book Those About to Die (formerly titled The Way of the Gladiator), in which Maximus is forced into slavery, becomes a gladiator, and rises through the arena ranks to avenge the murders of his family and emperor.
There are also several other actors in the film, including Joaquin Phoenix, Connie Nielsen, Ralf Moller, Oliver Reed, Djimon Hounsou, Derek Jacobi, John Shrapnel, Richard Harris, and Tommy Flanagan.
Our favorite part of this film is how it takes us back to Roman history. It shows the treatment of Roman soldiers and gladiators in comparison to those who were slaves. With Russell Crowe and Joaquin Phoenix in the lead roles, this film never fails to amaze us and makes us want to play Gladiator ourselves.
3. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Out of the Shadows (2016)
Based on the Saturday morning cartoon and comic book Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows brings us back to our childhood. There is another battle between the Turtles and the Shredder, who has recruited new allies: the mutant thugs Bebop and Rocksteady and the alien creature Krang.

As the sixth and final Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie, this is the second and final film in the reboot series. It was directed by Dave Green and stars Megan Fox, Stephen Amell, Will Arnett, Laura Linney, and Tyler Perry.
The turtles will always be our favorite characters in this action-packed movie. We remember watching Saturday morning cartoons when we were children.
4. Odd Thomas (2013)
Yelchin plays a man with special abilities living in a small California town who sees “the lingering dead.” He also sees faceless people in bowling shirts who ask him to save them. A faceless gunman kills them all, including Odd. In the wake of his dream (who had originally been named Todd, but his birth certificate was misprinted as Odd), Odd works as a short-order cook. The way Odd describes his ability is: “I see dead people, but by God, I do something about it.”
Based on the best-selling book of the same name by Dean Koontz, the film was directed, written, and co-produced by Stephen Sommers.
Koontz’s favorite adaptation of his Odd Thomas novels is among our favorites, and I consider him to be one of my favorite authors. Plus, Anton Yelchin gives a terrific performance.
5. Marry Me (2022)
Kat Valdez (Jennifer Lopez) is getting married to Bastian (Maluma) in front of a global audience, but it turns out that Bastian is unfaithful, so she marries Charlie, a stranger in the crowd, seconds before her vows.
Due to Lopez’s media presence and being fans of the Latina singer, we were attracted to her film.
Sarah Silverman, Owen Wilson, Maluma, John Bradley, and Jennifer Lopez starred in the film directed by Kat Coiro.
Aside from being a great singer and actress, Jennifer Lopez complements Owen Wilson well in this dramatic film we had to watch more than once.
6. Black Swan (2010)
Known for her role in Star Wars films, Natalie Portman plays Nina Sayers, a dancer who struggles to maintain her sanity after winning the lead role in Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake. It is a favorite because of its seriousness and Portman’s dancer role. Mila Kunis, Vincent Cassel, and Winona Ryder also star in this film, directed by Darren Aronofsky.
The dark world of ballet is explored in Black Swan, and Natalie Portman is known for playing every role, no matter how difficult.
7. Carrie (2013)
It’s a reboot of the 1976 film Carrie, which tells the story of a shy girl outcast by her peers who unleashes telekinetic terror on her small town at her senior prom when she’s sheltered by her religious mother (Julianne Moore). Featuring Chloe Grace Moretz, Julianne Moore, Gabriella Wilde, and Portia Doubleday, this film is a remake of Stephen King’s 1976 book.
We think Stephen King’s stories never cease to amaze us, and this version might just be better than the original, featuring a different cast and imagining what Carrie might be like today.
